I dread this subject POA at first. After I have met Mr Quek for POA’s lesson, I started to find joy in it while I used to fail continuously test after tests. POA became my favorite subject as my grades improved a lot. This goes to Mr Quek as he will always make the lessons fun and enjoyable, allowing failing student like me to pick this subject quickly. I am truly grateful for the hard work Mr Quek had put in and I can never imagine how I am able to cope with POA without his help. Alex ‌took note of my strengths & weaknesses, and helped me improve to become more effective in my study methods. He helped me plan my schedule for the upcoming prelims, during the stressful period when I was too panicky to plan anything. He also ‌gave me some advice on which subjects / topics I should focus on, so that I work to excel in the topics I’m weak in, instead of solely doing the things I already know. Alex is a dedicated tutor where he will put his students as his priority.He will go that extra mile to ensure that his students are able to understand whatever he has taught. Even though he can be strict at times, he is able to crack jokes during class which make it fun and enjoyable. I used to think that POA is a very boring and useless subject. And I was lacking confidence in myself and constantly doubting myself whenever I was attempting POA papers. After seeing Mr Quek for tuitions, I gain the confidence that I needed and now I am more motivated to do well in POA. Mr Quek uses real-life situations despite the traditional teaching methods to deliver his accounting knowledges which makes POA so much more interesting. With better understanding of this subject, coupled with his ‘systematic’ techniques to tackle certain examinations, I managed to achieve A2 within 4 months of tuition with Mr Quek. I can’t imagine my POA grade if I did not have tuition with him. Coming from the Malay Community, many do not believe in tuition as they adopted a very conservative mindset. Hope. One of the best words to describle Mr Quek as a tutor. He brings hope into students who doesn’t see light at the end of the tunnel. His determination for students to breakfree from a negative mindset is what makes him outstandingly different from the rest of the tutors. No matter how tiring his day is, he never gives up on students who has questions for him. To me planning ahead is one of his greatest strengths as a tutor. He is able to craft a schedule for students to follow systematically so as not to deviate from students from their end goal, A1 for POA. Mr. Alex Quek taught me POA and Mathematics. He started tutoring me in secondary 4 in 2016. I was failing my POA in sec 3 and had no idea on how to do well. When he took me as his private tutee, he taught me with great patience and clarity. He will always prepare many practice questions and schools papers for me to do which really helped me excel in the subjects. He has no issue in teaching long hours whenever I needed his extra help. Also he was consistently motivating me tospur me to getting me to top the class. There will be instances when classes got abit dry and tiring, he would crack jokes and keep me entertained and freshed. He always planned ahead for lessons and made sure he finished the syllabus ahead of time. Also, he is really experienced in teaching and he has the ability to answer you all the questions you have been it academic or non-academic related stuff. There are so many things that Alex has taught me but one thing which stands out is his commitment, he will travel to my place for tution at 9pm despite having a hectic schedule in school or tuition centre and most importantly, and he was able to deliver which make him very admirable.
